The Department of Environmental Resources - At Your Service

LARGO, MD - The Prince George's County Department of Environmental Resources (DER) recently sponsored a meeting to familiarize County citizens, especially officers of homeowners' associations, and residents with the myriad of resources available to them through the Department.

DER's Community Services Division (CSD) took the lead in the educational forum, discussing issues such as bulky trash pick-up, neighborhood beautification, stray animals, abandoned vehicles, landfill usage, and homeowner responsibilities in code compliance.

"We have found that many of our citizens are unaware of the programs and procedures we have available that can greatly enhance their quality of life and improve the livability of their communities," stated Donna M.P. Wilson, Esq., Director of DER "The Department of Environmental Resources plays a vital role in the clean up and beautification of Prince George's County."

Mrs. Wilson added, "We are pleased that our partnerships with these communities continue to grow. As we move forward in our promotion of the "Livable Communities Initiative," we embrace the many opportunities we encounter to introduce our programs and services to our internal and external customers."
