Directions to the Courthouse
From the Capital Beltway (I-495) and points North, take exit 11A onto MD Route 4-Pennsylvania Ave. South. Proceed approximately 9 miles past Woodyard Rd., Ritchie-Marlboro Rd. and Crain Hwy. to the exit for Upper Marlboro. If you reach the exits for 301 North/South, you have gone too far. At the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, bear to the right to use the free satellite parking lots or make a left for the metered lots next to and in front of the courthouse. Free shuttle buses frequent the satellite parking to provide convenient transportation to the Courthouse.

Parking Information for Upper Marlboro Courthouse
Following is an overview of parking availability near the Prince George's County Courthouse in Upper Marlboro. All metered parking overseen by the Parking Authority of Prince George's County is enforced from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except on County Holidays. Handicapped Parking is available at all of the listed locations.
- Governor Oden Bowie Drive has 75 on street metered spaces. The rate is $.75 per hour with a two hour maximum.
- Courthouse West Lot located on Water Street across from the 7-11 convenience store has 108 off street metered spaces. The rate is $.75 per hour with a two hour maximum.
- Judges Drive Lot at the corner of Judges Drive and Pratt Street adjacent to the Firehouse has 21 off street metered spaces. The rate is $.75 cents per hour with a two hour maximum.
- Courthouse Garage has 79 public spaces and 30 reserved spaces for the Prince George's County Bar Association and there are 80 public spaces in front of the New Courthouse.
- Equestrian Center has 2 free satellite parking lots with free shuttle service to the Courthouse.
COURTHOUSE GARAGE & LOT
Hours of Operation: The garage is open 24 hours per day. Payment is required from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, except Court Holidays. The Parkmaster paystation is located in front of the new section of the Courthouse.
- Parking must be paid in ADVANCE after parking your car.
- Note the number of the parking space your car is parked in.
Many people jot the number down.
- Unlike traditional, single spaced meters, the new computerized meters take $1.00 and $5.00 dollar bills and coins and furnishes you with a printed receipt.
How to Pay:
- Enter your parking space number using the numbered buttons just as you would a bank machine.
- Check the display window to make sure that you have entered the correct space number. If you have made a mistake, cancel by turning the red/orange knob. Enter the correct number.
- Deposit the money. Parking is $1.50 minimum and $.75 for each additional hour.
- The amount deposited and expiration time is displayed at the time money is deposited. If you need more time, deposit more money. Press the green button to end the transaction and get your receipt.
What if Something Goes Wrong?

Bus Routes to Upper Marlboro Courthouse
THE BUS provides local bus service weekdays on two routes from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm between Upper Marlboro and the New Carrollton and Addison Road Metro Stations. Route 21 runs between Upper Marlboro and the New Carrollton Metro Station. Route 20 runs between Upper Marlboro and the Addison Road Metro Station.
- Buses operate Monday through Friday every 30-35 minutes during rush hours and every 80 minutes during non-rush hours.
- No service is provided on Saturdays, Sundays, or major holidays.
THE UPPER MARLBORO MOVER
(Rt. 53), serves Marlboro Meadows, the Villages of Marlborough, the County Administration Building, Courthouse, Detention Center. Hours of operation are 6:30 am - 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except concurrent County/State Holidays. Offers FREE transfer to Routes 20 & 21.
